Michael O’Brien is a patent attorney in Orange County, California. Mike’s expertise is in the economic value of invention. He has assisted hundreds of clients obtaining patents, enforcing patents, and defending against allegations of infringement. From large companies to smaller merchants, many in ecommerce have come to trust Mike for his creative solutions, dedication, and unique results. Mike researches how businesses choose to differentiate products and how businesses insure the risk of product differentiation against exclusive rights of others while creating risks for competitors at the same time. His published work and conferences presentations have made his solutions publicly available and subject to peer review. His current project is using set theory to more effectively tune large language model image recognition abilities to determine whether an object is infringing.
Mike is a magna cum laude graduate of the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering degree from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and a Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s College of California with honors.
